Kigali Fashion Week
Rwanda is set to receive a boost to promote and grow its fashion industry. Kigali Fashion Week has partnered with the Rwanda Cultural Show to promote the fashion trade. Under this partnership Kigali Fashion Week, dubbed ‘The Power of Love’, will take place from 13-18 July, culminating in the launch of the Rwanda Fashion Council in July as a platform for local designers to meet and exchange ideas. Could this be the beginning of a growing fashion industry in Rwanda? Time will tell.
Style tip: Scarves – your way
Worn the right way, scarves are both practical and decorative – an art piece on your neck. There are many different ways to wear a scarf – for example, take your scarf (the more square it is, the better), lay it out flat and fold in half. Tie the top corners together. The side openings are your sleeves. Slip it on and voila! Scarf turned kimono. Visit www.tdsblog.com to look at other ways to wear a scarf – “4 Scarves in 16 Ways.”
