Kenya Airways has been recognised in the prestigious World Travel Awards 2013, which is billed as the travel industry’s Oscars.

The airline scooped the top award in the ‘Africa’s Leading Airline – Business Class 2013’ category of the World Travel Awards Africa Gala Ceremony that was held in November at the Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi. Kenya Airways beat five other nominees in the category – Air Namibia, Egypt Air, Ethiopian Airlines, Air Maroc, and South African Airways.

The annual World Travel Awards, which are in their 20th year, recognise, acknowledge and reward the leading travel, tourism and hospitality players in the world.

Speaking after receiving the award, Dr Titus Naikuni said that the recognition highlighted the airline’s core values of putting the customer first, by ensuring that all operations start and end with them. “We are committed to consistently deliver world-class service for our guests. We continue focusing on our valued customers and responding to their changing needs,” Dr Naikuni added.
